LISTONE GIORDANO DOUBLES UP AND STAGES THE ESSENCE OF DESIGN IN DEFENCE OF THE PLANET

From the homage to Natural Genius at the Salone del Mobile, to the double Arena set-up where the world premieres of the Circular project (indoor and outdoor) are combined with the innovative initiative The Data Room.

Listone Giordano doubles its presence at Milan Design Week according to economy and high-tech design. The company, famous for being the first to patent the multilayer parquet 40 years ago, is among the protagonists of the Milan furniture week both at Salone del Mobile and Fuorisalone

A fil rouge of creativity and research unites all this year’s activities, alternating new products with special initiatives and projects. In the background, but always in the foreground, is the theme of defending the planet, a daily sustainability made of technology and sensitivity, passion and respect for the individual as the engine of human growth.

WHERE TO FIND US AT THE FURNITURE FAIR

LISTONE GIORDANO AT THE SALONE DEL MOBILE: HOMAGE TO NATURAL GENIUS

If designer parquet were to have an origin, this would undoubtedly be Natural Genius. Not a collection, but a creative philosophy, an artistic vision that allowed Listone Giordano, almost 20 years ago, to involve authoritative designers from all over the world to give life to original and elegant wooden floors. Surfaces where form, style and technology converge in a unique and unrepeatable material experience. From the initial intuition of Michele De Lucchi with the Medoc collection to the geometries of Daniele Lago with Slide, from the seductive curves of Patricia Urquiola with Biscuit to the explosion of colours of Perigal by Paola Lenti.

Design as a catalyst for creative flair where drawing transcends rising to inspiration that finds synthesis in reality becoming tangible and the protagonist of living. Listone Giordano returns to the fair to confirm the experimental path that has made it famous among the producers of wooden surfaces and relaunch with an engaging stand in Hall 22 – Stand G19

THE DATA ROOM AND PROGETTO CIRCULAR, LISTONE GIORDANO’S HIGH-TECH FUORISALONE

In the heart of the capital of design, at Via Santa Cecilia 6, stands Listone Giordano Arena, alocation that has now become an unmissable crossroads between art and design. A place that during Design Week 2024 will be the protagonist of two major novelties.

On the one hand Circular, which stems from the research applied to the reuse of waste materials interpreted by two souls: the more industrial one, with the Graphit floor (in collaboration with Alisea) using waste graphite for a special finish, and the one inspired by nature in the Terre di Vigna collection (in synergy with Passoni Design) where the pigments of the marc come back to life in the Listone Giordano collections. In parallel, The Data Room, a physical and at the same time digital space, an interactive tale to become aware of the complexity and the state of health of our planet.

Circular: New Fabrique Graphit and Marine Ash Graphit

Circular was born with this objective: to show and explain how wood, a living material par excellence, can change shape and nature without losing its soul by showing itself through different types of flooring that promote the concept of circular economy. A vision that, after the success of the Fuorisalone 2023 preview, returns this year with new collections where In & Out converge in the name of cutting-edge design technology.

At the origin of it all, a simple question: why not give new life to several tonnes of graphite from the processing of industrial plants while saving time, space and annual disposal costs? A simple question with an ingenious answer that not only answers a need but turns it into an opportunity to create something new while defending the planet. This is Graphit, the parquet flooring signed by Listone Giordano that celebrates the virtuous model of circular economy contributing to a gradual decoupling of economic activity from the consumption of finite sources. Partner in this project is Alisea – Recycled & Reused Objects Design, the company that has been exclusively designing products derived from recovered graphite since 1994. All materials used for the production of the objects are treated with innovative transformation processes, which guarantee quality standards practically identical to virgin materials.

In Arena, Graphit is applied to two extremely different collections. On the one hand, Fabrique, the surface designed by Marc Sadler in which the innate concept of a continuous weave is enhanced by the combination with graphite, enhancing its natural matt effect. At the same time, Listone Giordano introduces an original total black soft outdoor with the Marine Ash Graphit collection where the graphite’s ability to retard the oxidation of the wood allows for greater colour stability and uniformity while also facilitating the maintenance cycle. A parquet, the latter, designed for terraces, indoor swimming pools or for all those indoor/outdoor situations that favour surface continuity.

The Data Room: the interactive platform to learn about man’s impact on the planet

In 2023, with the Neuro Nature project, Listone Giordano Arena investigated the relationship between people and the natural environment, verifying whether cohabitation with plants, in an atmosphere of harmony between light and shadow, sound and silence, could bring significant scientifically measurable benefits on a physiological, cognitive and emotional level. This year the point of view is reversed and the survey focuses on the impact that the human species has on the Earth ecosystem today. An ethical and responsible awareness that once again starts from data and scientific bases to question how to rethink the approach to design in all sectors.

From this reasoning comes The Data Room, an interactive platform that during Milan Design Week will allow the public to use tablets to question and interrogate an articulated database system on what the prospects are for our planet. An investigation that involves the world of design and furniture as a subject that acts and intervenes in the organisation of people’s lives, but which is also an opportunity for inner reflection.

On the website https://dataroom.seed360.org public data are available but gathered and organised by macro-topics, stories, realities; from wellbeing to bio-diversity, from water to the environment, diversified case histories that can also be filtered geographically to compare the state of health in every corner of the planet.

A challenge launched now and that will be further explored at Seed, the event that in September will gather in Perugia the elite of the world of architecture, science and research to provide answers to these questions. The Data Room, the room of numbers that wants to transform data into a common good.

The power of colours, Listone Giordano x Paola Lenti

After the successful collaboration between Paola Lenti and Listone Giordano in the past years, at the Design Week the brand will be present at Via Bovio 28, in the Fuorisalone space of the eclectic designer. For the occasion she will create a special bespoke version of the Désir collection where colour will be the protagonist.
